Visit to the bison herd
On the grounds of the Kanatha-Aki Nature Activity Center, we offer you the unique privilege of meeting the largest land mammal in North America: the wood bison (Athabascae).
We created the first and only wood bison reserve in Québec with the goal of protecting this species, which is currently threatened with extinction. This prehistoric survivor lived through the Ice Age and played a fundamental role in human survival on the planet. During this one-of-a-kind visit, you’ll discover the habits and way of life of the bison within their vast territory.
You’ll set off on an expedition along a 15-minute mountain trail, where the scents of nature will awaken your senses. After the guide's call, the bison will come down from the mountain, and you'll have the chance to witness their feeding.
Transportation available for an additional $5.00 per person + taxes. Thank you for supporting the preservation of our bison.COMBOS Visit to the kennel
You can also combine your bison visit with a visit to the kennel. With respect for the dogs, we will guide you through the facility. You’ll have the pleasure of meeting our Alaskan Husky dogs.
You’ll have the opportunity to capture these memorable moments and ask any questions you may have.
Explanations: pack lifestyle, hierarchy, canine language and philosophy, animal care, and nordic dogs.
