Important information

When should I reserve?

This is a very popular activity. Reservations for weekends should be made 1 or 2 weeks in advance, and reservations for Christmas vacations, and anytime from mid-February to the last week of March should be made 3 or 4 weeks in advance. For any other time, reservations should be made a few days in advance.

How many people can go on one sled?

For this adventure, each sled has a guide, and the guide will decide how many people can go on each sled.

Is it hard on the dogs?

These dogs are canine athletes who are bred to pull and run in a cold environment. They are trained and fed properly to be able to do it well. They like pulling a sled as much as a retriever likes fetching a stick. This will become obvious just before the ride starts. Feel free to ask your guide anything you want about sled dogs… learning about the dogs is an interesting part of the experience.

Do we drive our own sled?

On the personalized adventures, the guide drives the sled but may allow participants to share the driving.

Can we visit the kennel?

Yes, you get to visit the kennel and the puppies (seasonal).

Is it physically demanding?

No, you can ride comfortably as a passenger the whole way.

Why is there a Climate Surcharge during Christmas Holiday season?

Christmas periods with no snow, unusually warm weather, and rain are creating serious viability challenges. Outdoor operators in our area have come together to create a Climate Surcharge* to reservations from Dec. 20, 2025 to Jan. 4, 2026, because it is no longer sustainable to run dogsledding activities, given the warming we are now experiencing. Dogsledding depend on many kilometers of snow covered trails, which we can no longer rely on for this peak 3 week period. This will help us cover revenue losses due to global warming, and preserve our activities so that guests can continue to enjoy them in the future. *This surcharge, along with the entire reservation amount, will be refunded if we have to cancel your tour. If you find this price high, know that we do too, and we recommend you come after January 5th when pricing returns to normal and the weather risk has passed.
